Guinea Passport Photos and Visa Photo Requirements – Rules, Guidelines, and Specifications
Although we already listed the Guinea passport photo requirements, we feel that it is necessary for you to have more information about a few of them. An improper passport photo is one of the most common causes of rejection when it comes to passport applications, and we want you to avoid all that trouble.
- The background of your picture has to be white. It cannot be even slightly colored, and it cannot have shadows or patterns on it. If you have a white wall in your house, problem solved. If, however, you do not, you can take a white sheet and hang it on a wall. That should do the trick just as well.
- When taking the picture, place your camera at eye level. It provides the best angle. Make sure to keep your head straight because both halves of your face must be equally visible. Portrait-style photos will be rejected, so do not tilt or rotate your head in any direction.
- Smiling in a passport photo or visa photo is prohibited. You can neither frown, squint nor raise your brows. You have to adopt a neutral facial expression, and the best way to do that is by relaxing your face when you take the photo.
- Look straight into the camera when taking the photograph, and make sure that your eyes are not covered by your hair or by the frames of your glasses. If the frames are too large, take them off. If you do decide to keep your eyeglasses on, make sure there is no glare in the photo. You cannot appear in your passport photo or visa photo wearing sunglasses or glasses with tinted lenses.
- Light has the potential of distorting your facial features, which is why you need to be very careful. Choose the right intensity, and make sure that there are no shadows on your face. It is best if the source of light is right in front of you when you capture the photo.
- Headwear is usually prohibited. However, if your religion does not allow you to appear with your head uncovered, you are allowed to keep on your headwear. Even so, you have to make sure that your veil does not create shadows on your face. At the same time, your face has to be visible from the top of your forehead to the bottom of your chin.
- If you usually have a beard, you are not compelled to shave it off for your passport photo or visa photo.
Rules and Requirements for Babies, Infants, and Newborn Passport and Visa Photos
Children need their own travel document, so if you want to take them on your trip, you have to apply for passports and visas for them too. Needless to say, you will have to take their picture as well. Here are some tips to help you out:
- Keep in mind that there are not many differences between a child’s passport photo and an adult’s passport photo. The one worth mentioning is that it is perfectly acceptable for a child’s head to occupy less space in a passport photo. Children have, after all, smaller heads.
- When photographing your child in a car seat, remember to cover the backrest of the chair with a white layer.
- If you want to photograph your child from above, place him/her on a white sheet or blanket.
- Children must be awake when taking their picture.
- Remove any objects such as pacifiers, hats, toys, etc.
